Tokyo

Day 1

Welcome to Japan

Kon’nichiwa, and welcome to Tokyo — a city where tradition meets cutting-edge modernity!

Upon arrival at Tokyo Airport, you’ll be met by your friendly English-speaking assistant, who will help validate your Japan Rail Pass, share insider tips, and escort you to your hotel via the airport shuttle bus. As you make your way into the city, soak in the vibrant energy and ever-changing streetscapes.

Once checked in, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore at your own pace — perhaps take a stroll through your local neighbourhood or sample some of Tokyo’s legendary street food.

Day 2

Tokyo Discovery

Wake up to the hum of Tokyo and meet your private guide for an unforgettable introduction to this extraordinary city. Start with panoramic views from the Bunkyo Civic Centre, where the skyline stretches from Tokyo Skytree to distant Mt Fuji on a clear day.

Step back in time at the Edo Fukagawa Museum, where life-sized exhibits bring Japan’s historic capital to life. In Asakusa, wander Nakamise Street’s bustling stalls before arriving at the magnificent Senso-ji Temple — incense curling into the air and paper fortunes rustling in the breeze.

End your day in sophisticated Ginza, where avant-garde architecture, flagship boutiques, and hidden sushi counters reveal a different side of Tokyo.

Day 3

Your Tokyo, Your Way

Today is yours to shape entirely. We can arrange optional experiences to match your style, or you can simply follow your curiosity.
You might:

  • Slip into a themed costume and race through Tokyo’s streets on a guided Go-Kart tour.

  • Take a scenic journey to Mt Fuji, where the iconic peak rises over shimmering lakes.

  • Learn the precise art of sushi-making from a master chef.

  • Immerse yourself in a samurai experience, handling traditional swords and armour.

However you choose to spend the day, Tokyo will reveal yet another layer of its personality.

Day 4

Bullet Train to Kyoto’s Golden Treasures

Pack a small overnight bag as your main luggage is transferred directly to Kyoto for a seamless journey. Board the Shinkansen — Japan’s legendary bullet train — and watch the scenery shift from Tokyo’s soaring skyline to rural landscapes dotted with rice paddies and tea fields.

On arrival, join your guide for a journey into Kyoto’s living history. Visit Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, shimmering across its mirror-like pond. Stroll through the peaceful Ryoan-ji Zen garden, where every stone is placed with quiet intention. Finally, wander Gion’s narrow streets, where lanterns sway softly outside ochaya teahouses and you may glimpse a geisha on her way to an evening engagement.

Breakfast included.
3 nights in Kyoto – stay in the hotel standard you choose

Day 5

Kyoto at Leisure or Nara’s Sacred Icons

Spend the day as you wish — perhaps browsing craft shops for delicate washi paper, wandering through centuries-old temples, or enjoying matcha in a traditional teahouse.

Deluxe and Indulgence guests will enjoy a private guided tour to Nara and Fushimi. Meet the gentle, free-roaming deer of Nara Park before stepping inside Todai-ji Temple to see the awe-inspiring Great Buddha. At Kasuga Shrine, thousands of bronze and stone lanterns create a magical, timeless atmosphere. Conclude with a visit to Fushimi’s sake district for a tasting of Japan’s finest rice wine.

Breakfast included

Kyoto Gardens

Day 6

Bamboo Groves and Hillside Temples

Continue exploring Kyoto’s treasures at your own pace. You might visit the dramatic hillside Kiyomizu-dera Temple, its wooden stage jutting over a forested valley. In Arashiyama, wander beneath the whispering stalks of the bamboo grove or cross the Togetsukyo Bridge for river views framed by wooded hills.

Alternatively, take a short train ride to Uji, famous for its vibrant green tea and the striking Byodo-in Temple — a UNESCO World Heritage site reflected perfectly in its lotus pond.

A short walk brings you to your traditional ryokan, where sliding shoji screens, tatami floors, and perhaps a soak in a steaming onsen bath await. Spend the afternoon exploring Takayama’s old town — a patchwork of sake breweries, lacquerware shops, and Edo-style merchant houses.

Breakfast included.

We had the most incredible experience with Click and Trip for our Vietnam and Cambodia holiday. They were so helpful pre-departure customising and adding extras we requested to our itinerary. As well as helping us organise our visas for our destinations. All our guides were so friendly and welcoming and made the whole experience so effortless and enjoyable. The activities were amazing and so diverse in each city and our accomodation in Cambodia was a real stand out. I can not recommend Click and Trip more highly and there offering in the travel market is truely unlike anything I have seen. Book with them, you will not regret it.

Well, thats New York done and dusted !!.What a fabulous time we had. I wanted to email you to thank especially Rosie,Holly and the clickandtrip team for your organisation of our trip. It exceeded our expectations and I will be telling anyone who listens or asks to use your company and yourself. The details and instructions regarding the travelling details were clear and concise. The transfers from flights to drivers to and from airport/hotel seemless. I cannot thank you enough. Your response to any questions was prompt and clear ( and I had a lot of questions). Thank you all for a wonderful holiday we will remember forever. Kind regards Susan Hocken

Nyssa at Click and Trip was super helpful and knowledgeable. I gave her an overview of what my wife and I were looking to do in a 5 week trip around Australia and she compiled an intenerary that accomplished that, but also had a plethora of suggestions of places to see and activities that I would never have known. We also had to change our plans towards the end of our trip and she was able to sort that out hassle free for me. I have already given her details to friends and family that are thinking of touring Oz and I will not hesitate to use Click and Trip again for any trips to other destinations that may take my fancy in the future.

We had a fantastic trip to Vietnam with Click & Trip; I can't recommend this service highly enough, it takes the stress out of booking and planning a trip, and ensures you are locked into the best tours, hotels and transport for your time away (so you don't have to worry about getting dates and times right or booking an Air BnB that doesn't exist). It feels like a much more bespoke experience than previous travel agencies I've used, so if you get the chance to use them for your next trip, definitely do!
